How many of you know someone with thyroid issues?  Mood instability?  Or hormone imbalance?  I bet we all do!  So, what’s up with all these struggles?

Although I am not a hormone expert, I have worked through hormone issues myself using natural detoxification methods of support.  I have seen some of my clients be taken off medications by their doctor for hormonal issues after getting their bodies in a better state of balance by addressing underlying causes.  Lastly, I have had the blessing of learning from experts in the field like Dr. Jess Peatross and then sharing what I learn with you.  As you keep reading you will see how supporting the brain and body’s natural ability to detox plays an important role in balancing hormones.

WHAT ARE HORMONES?

Hormones are biological chemicals that travel in the bloodstream delivering messages, and also serving as regulators.  Hormones are produced in response to a complex set of interactions and feedback loops between the glands in the brain and other areas of the body.  Hormones regulate our homeostasis or state of internal balance.

HORMONES PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE FOLLOWING:

  • Regulate appetite and thirst

  • Metabolism of food (insulin is a hormone)

  • Guide overall growth and development

  • Direct function and development of sex organs and fertility

  • Regulate body temperature

  • Moderate mood and emotions

  • Support sleep and circadian rhythm

  • Regulate the absorption of calcium

There a several glands that are in constant communication with one another via signaling molecules to produce more or less of the various hormones the body needs.  When we are healthy, this symphony of signaling provides us with good regulation of body temperature, reproductive health, appetite control, and our mood.  When there is something interfering with the production and function of hormones, we could have mild manageable issues such as lower body temperature. Or we could have much more significant struggles with emotions and development.

SOME OF THE GLANDS INVOLVED IN HORMONE BALANCE ARE IN THE BRAIN:

  • pineal

  • pituitary

  • hypothalamus

OTHER GLANDS INVOLVED IN HORMONE BALANCE ARE IN OTHER AREAS OF THE BODY:

  • thyroid

  • parathyroid

  • thymus

  • pancreas

  • ovaries & testes

  • adrenals

  • Our ever-working liver plays a large role in hormone balance too!

If one of the organs listed above are stressed, it can affect your entire system. We may battle fatigue, have problems associated with temperature regulation, reproductive issues, or we may just feel “off.”

What could be disrupting or interfering with our body’s ability to maintain balance? There are perhaps thousands of things since there are over 85,000 manmade chemicals in our world today, but let’s talk about a few of the biggies.

WHAT MAY BE LINKED TO HORMONE IMBALANCE?

  • Pesticides and herbicides from contact or from consuming foods containing them. (Fruits, veggies, grains, animal meat from animals fed grain containing chemicals)

  • Poor diet or nutrition (consuming fast foods and high carbohydrate diets)

  • Drinking poor quality or contaminated water.

  • Mitochondrial dysfunction or stress

  • Mycotoxins or mold

  • Gut dysbiosis (digestive issues)

  • Hormonal therapy or birth control pills

  • Misuse of anabolic steroidal drugs or medications

  • Stressed or impaired liver and gall bladder function

  • BPA’s, phthalates, PFAS, PFOA, or “forever chemicals” known to be toxic since the 1960’s

  • Constipation

  • Chronic stress or unresolved emotional trauma

  • Histamine – estrogen imbalance issues

  • Lingering infections or ongoing inflammation

  • Toxic metals like arsenic, lead, and mercury

  • And we always need to consider the possibility of parasites

As we can see, many of the stressors linked to hormonal issues are toxins or organ issues highly impacted by toxins.  It is clear that detoxing is something anyone who eats, drinks, or breathes air should consider if they want to enjoy greater health and support hormone balance.

Just a little more about drinking water, because it is SO IMPORTANT.  Those who know me, know that I have become a big prominent of drinking distilled water.  I know this goes against the flow, but I have yet to find a better option since discovering it.  If you haven’t looked into what’s in your water, please don’t wait.  When you see how many substances linked to neurological issues and cancer are in our drinking water, I’m sure you will understand and want to avoid it.

When you drink water from your faucet you are getting a lot more than H2O.  Of the thousands of chemicals in our world, only a few are tested.  Even Reverse Osmosis doesn’t take all these toxins out.  According to this study, fluoride and its derivatives have been associated with high levels of TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) and lower IQ’s.

Click on the link for your city to see how your water tests according to the Environmental Working Group (EWG) tap water database.

Savage. Prior Lake. Shakopee. BloomingtonEden Prairie. Enter Your Zip Code here to find out how your city water tests.

When I checked the database for my city on March 28, 2022, the results indicated there were 9 out of 14 contaminants that were above the current safety guidelines found in water tested between January 2021 – March 2021.  The 9 contaminants over the safety guidelines were recorded as being between 19X and 161X the safety guidelines.  It states that eight of the nine are potentially linked to cancer.  It also states on the tap water database that “legal” doesn’t necessarily mean safe. The safety limits set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have not been updated for nearly 20 years, and that some standards are around 40 years old.  How protected and safe does that make you feel?  In other words, we know there could be a lot more contaminants not being tested and the regarded as safe limits may not actually be that safe.  Tap water drinkers-- beware.

WHAT TO DO?  If it were me, I would:
1. Drink distilled water and add CT Minerals.  (Connect to ask about CT Minerals or the distillation system I use.)

2. Avoid eating a high carbohydrate diet which can be linked hormonal issues, fatty liver disease, and memory issues. Check out this quote from the book, Life Without Bread co-authored by Christian Allan, PhD and Wolfgang Lutz, MD, “…most endocrinologists, those physicians who specialize in hormones, do not recognize the fact that carbohydrate consumption is that major dietary source of hormonal imbalance.”

3. Consume healthy fats like organic unrefined coconut oil and butter from 100% grass-fed cattle

4. Drink out of glass or stainless-steel containers (store food in glass containers as well) to avoid additional exposure to hormone disrupting chemicals.

5. Find out what is interfering with your body’s innate ability to balance hormones, and provide your body with natural tools to support its innate self-balancing mechanisms.  Connect to learn more.

From my experience, one’s health condition will likely worsen if nothing is done to remove the toxins that are building up.  To learn more about the methods and tools I use to help people safely detox stressors that may be linked to hormonal issues book a Free Discovery Call today.

A highly respected company called CellCore has come out with an exciting new product called S-TRO. Woot!
