Remember when you were a little kid or when your young children would ask a gazillion WHY questions?  Why do we have to brush our teeth?  Why did God make mosquitoes?  Why does Daddy snore?  Why?  Why?  WHY?  As adults we seem to have lost this natural curiosity and have been accepting the messages the world has bombarded us with for years, without asking further questions or critically thinking about what we are being told.  Aren’t you even a little bit curious about why you keep getting headaches?  Or why hormones are out of whack?  (Infertility is a growing issue right now as are many other hormones related problems.) What are the underlying causes that are preventing my body from functioning optimally?  Why can’t I seem to make the energy I need to keep up with life?   These are great questions to ask. If you haven’t been asking WHY, it’s time to start now. It’s time to dig in and get curious!

Often, we just don’t know what to do, so we live on with our struggles.  Maybe we regularly think or say, “We all have aches and pains, don’t we?”  “Weight gain and memory loss just come with getting older.”  OR perhaps we buy into the lie – “It’s just something I have to learn to live with.  There’s nothing I can do.”  You are welcome to believe this if you want to, but I refuse to believe nothing can be done.  Really?  Nothing?  We are fearfully and wonderfully made.  There is almost always SOMETHING that CAN BE DONE.   I believe if we start asking more questions to find the underlying root causes to our health struggles, we would start to find answers.  Nutrition Response Testing does this. Once we address the underlying causes to our struggles, our body can begin to work more like God created it to.  Our bodies truly are a miracle.  The choices we make and the toxins we are unknowingly being exposed to can affect the way our amazing bodies perform. I pray you start to take back your power of natural curiosity so you can find out what you need for your body to perform the way God created it to. Please don’t just do what the commercials or media tells you to do. They do not have your best interest in mind. (Consider who is paying for and profiting from the vast majority of what you see and hear in mainstream.)

As we age, we do not have to lose our memory and health.  We can actually improve our health when we address the underlying root causes to our struggles.  Rarely is a health issue something we have to learn to live with.  If you are a solutions-minded person, then keep seeking what is needed to improve your situation.  Don’t give up!  I am so glad I didn’t give up. Whatever your current state, I believe it can be better. Connect to learn more.

Ever heard of hormesis?  One definition of hormesis is responding to a stress in a way that results in becoming even more robust than prior to the stressor or adverse experience.  How cool is that?  We have the capability to actually be better than we were before!  When you consider this concept, you have probably already experienced it.  Perhaps you experienced a setback such as an injury.  You dug in and did the physical therapy, and exercised your way back to a position of health that was even better than before the injury.  We know many athletes have done this.  But this isn’t just for athletes – it’s for everyday people like you and me!  We too can experience hormesis and help our bodies with the tools they need to overcome trauma and even improve our state or condition so we are even better off than before.

One of the best ways I know to promote a state of hormesis is to dive in to find the root cause/s of the problems.  Why do I always crave sweets or carbs?  Why can’t I lose weight?  Why do I feel so anxious?  Why do I keep getting migraines?  Since no two people are alike, the answers to these questions are different for everyone.  In my experience, there is not just one reason or underlying cause to these problems.  There are multiple factors that need to be addressed, and when they are, the problems start to resolve.   People start to feel better and enjoy life more.

Our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made, but they have been under attack.  We breathe in toxins from burning candles, artificial air fresheners, and chemicals etc.  We put toxic chemicals and synthetic fragrances on our skin with the lotions and potions we use that get absorbed into our blood stream and literally end up anywhere blood blows.  Nearly all of us have been exposed to viruses, bacteria, parasites, mold, and heavy metals that accumulate in our systems.  Until stressors like these are addressed, we will continue to struggle, and things will likely get worse.

It is critical people realize that constantly feeling tired, “needing” caffeine, repeatedly getting headaches, and struggling with various sensitivities -- although they are common, they are not a sign of good health.  We need to ask, “Why is the body struggling to function optimally?”  That’s where practitioners that use techniques like Nutrition Response Testing can be of great help.  We are trained to find and address the underlying causes that are keeping people from enjoying optimal health. It’s a matter of how much are we willing to put up with.  Would you put up with a car that chugs along or that has to be pushed or jump-started?  I don’t think so!   Why do some people put up with a body that chugs along?  Or that they feel compelled to self-medicate with caffeine to jump-start themselves so they can get through the day?  Is it because this is what has become normalized?  Nearly everyone seems to be doing it.  What is common is often not what is good.  I don’t know about you, but I want to be able to live life more fully and be a blessing to others. We can’t do this if we’re not functioning optimally.
