Are You Drinking Toxins?

According to an article published by the National Institute of Health (NIH), there is evidence to suggest that arsenic in our water supplies may be linked to various types of cancer, such as skin, liver, lung, kidneys, and bladder. It also states, “the population cancer risks due to arsenic in U.S. water supplies may be comparable to those from environmental tobacco smoke and radon in homes.” See article here.
Many don’t realize what’s in their water. Our water is treated with many chemicals these days in order to make it “safe.” Personally, I drink filtered water to be on the safer side. Water is something we all need to sustain life. Our bodies contain on average around 60% water. Our cellular functions depend on clean water. Can you tell I am trying to drive home the importance of this topic? I care about you!
So how do you know what’s in your water?
The Environmental Working Group has a National Tap Water Database. Tap Water Database. I think this is a great place to start. But, I warn you. You may be shocked to learn what’s in your water! Either way. I urge you to check it out. The database will show you of the items tested which ones tested above what is considered safe. By informing yourself, you can make better decisions for yourself.
One of the most common toxins I find people struggling with is chloroform. Until recently, I had never heard of it! Turns out it is a byproduct made from the chlorine added to our water. Many other interesting things end up in our drinking water - many of which I cannot pronounce. It is worth a few minutes of your time to investigate. Don’t take my word for it. See for yourself.
On the date I last checked my city water supply, 13 contaminants were found of which 10 were above the safe limits. There were high levels of funky named chemicals, chloroform, radium (radioactive element), and nitrates found in the water. On the site they do show that Reverse Osmosis removes these chemicals. So this is nothing to sneeze at folks!
What can be done about it?
Consider drinking distilled water. I know. You’ve heard it is “bad” for you. It’s dead water. Actually, it’s just plain, pure H20. No matter the water choice, I would add minerals to the water. Ask about the minerals I use.
I have chosen this basic counter-top distillation system for our home. It’s economical. It’s made here in the U.S.A. of high quality stainless steel. It’s super-easy to maintain and comes with a glass gallon jar. I am very interested in learning about other systems out there. If you know of others, I welcome you to show me. If you decide to order from this U.S. company, you can save 5% on the distiller of your choice by using the discount code: BEYONDBRAIN. Have more questions? I am also happy to answer questions about the distiller we have. Email questions here.
In the future they say it is going to be just as important to focus on removing toxins from our bodies as it is to what we consume. Even our fruits and veggies contain oodles of toxic chemicals.
